I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Former two-time world boxing king Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.

Fighter's Mindset

"I will break his face and break his body up. My goal is to show my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I intend to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Interaction

In spite of such comments, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul instead criticized former Joshua rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Taking Aim at Fury

Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I respect him for that."

Serious Fighter

Despite saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.

Jake Paul's History

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Financial Success

However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly under discussion for 2026.

"It's going to be my match with Fury next year," Jake Paul said.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
