Local Law Enforcement
Approximately 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be blood from a person in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, police confirm police.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were vandalized, occasionally with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The liquid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they added.
Law enforcement then found many other marked vehicles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Officials report preliminary tests suggest the fluid was likely human blood.
"There is still no lead as to its source; officials are currently not informed of any injuries in connection with the occurrence," they stated.
City officials announced they were working "to unravel the mystery" and have appealed to the residents for tips.
An important political figure commented the incident rendered him speechless and needed to be resolved rapidly.
"This event hits the center of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on a platform, mentioning the killing of nine victims by a assailant aiming at individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
